Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari (Poco's Udon World)

ღ Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, Souta Tawara returns to his hometown in Kagawa. Though his parents are no longer around, his former home and family-owned udon restaurant reminds him of the times his family was still together. Reminiscing about his childhood, Souta enters the udon restaurant and discovers a grimy young boy sleeping.

ღ At first, Souta thinks nothing of the chance encounter and provides the boy with food and clothing. However, to his surprise, the boy suddenly sprouts a furry pair of ears and a tail! Souta soon learns that the nameless boy is actually the rumored shapeshifting tanuki that has been inhabiting Kagawa for many years. Thinking that the boy has been living a lonely life, he decides to take him in and name him Poko.

ღ Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari follows the heartwarming relationship between Souta and Poko, and through the time they spend together, Souta recalls his own past, the place he left behind for the city, and the relationship he had with his father.

☸ Even though I cried at the ending, because it's a bittersweet reality. I know in my heart that life is not always rainbows and butterflies. I still like how it ended.

シ SURPRISINGLY ENJOYABLE! This series doesn't focus on a love story. I love the character development! I think everyone can relate to every character here. Being introvert or extrovert. How to make friends. Falling in love. Having a crush, or breaking somebody's heart. MOST IMPORTANTLY, ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE.

シ Adorable, heartwarming, beautiful, and wholesome.

シ I've read some of the reviews about this anime before watching it. They compare it to Poco's Udon World. For me, it's different. Yes, same slice of life and enjoyable. But Poco's Udon World surpassed my expectations.

シ Barakamon is about an adult who has difficulties growing up, socializing with people, overcoming the fears of rejection, and accepting who you are. It has elements that you will surely enjoy.

シ I have high expectations on this one since I finished watching Poco's Udon World. It's a bit disappointing and different from what I expected. But it's still enjoyable. I like the characters and ending. I'm glad that I was able to finish this. I recommend this anime to people who love a slice of life and drama stories.

+It started strong. This is the first time I'm impressed by a webtoon or webcomic series. The art style is so f*cking pretty. The characters are all good-looking. The first and second volume is so awesome. I like the plot and storyline. It's refreshing and cute.⁣

+If you know me, I'm not into the romance category or genre. But this is sooooo amazing. Way better than I expected. The emotional torture of a cliff-hanging ending is worth it.⁣

+The last season wreaked me. I'm disappointed. Yes, the art is still amazing. But there are a lot of questions in my head. WHY? WHAT HAPPENED? HOW? lol, It felt like the author is rushed or whatever? No plot and character development. It drives me insane. I'm just sad and frustrated.⁣

+Overall, I'm just giving this 3.5/5 stars. I hate and love this story. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I wished that there was more and a different ending. Rather than just giving us a rushed ending. It doesn't make sense at all. 🤦‍♀️⁣
