Sixty Six (Sixty Six #1-3) by Russell Molina and Ian Sta. Maria (Illustrator)

❸.❺/❺ ๐ŸŒ

≛ Interesting story about the life of Mang Tino.

Kabebertdey niya lang.

Ika nga ng matatanda, "Huli man daw at magaling, maihahabol din."

The story of Celestino Cabal. His birthday has just passed. He received a gift that he now gets to open, bit by bit. As the old saying goes, “Better late than never.”

❺/❺ ✮

“Natakot ako na mali ako pero kakabit nga siguro lagi ng pananalig ang takot.”

-Miguel Santamaria

Malupet. Astig. Masalimuot. Masaya.

☙ Ang dami kong gustong sabihin. May nauna na akong rebyu bago ito. Hindi talaga ako maka move on agad.

Sinimulan kong basahin yung book 5 nung May 2022. At anong buwan na ngayon? Haha

Kasabay nila akong lumuha at tumawa. At siguradong babalik balikan.

“OO. Okey lang matakot basta hindi tayo susuko.”

-Janus Silang

☙ Hanggang sa muli, Janus. Salamat. Hindi kita makakalimutan. Hindi ko kayo makakalimutan. Imposible. ☺

The Silent Wife (Will Trent Book 10) - Karin Slaughter⁣

๐‘๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  5/5 ✰⁣

⁣
A masterpiece!⁣
⁣
☠ I've read 22 books by Karin Slaughter. It never disappoints me. Will Trent Series is one hell of a ride. But I still love The Grant County Series. BOTH ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!⁣
⁣
"The most dangerous cop on any investigation was the one who always thought he was right."⁣
⁣
☠ There is a lot of character development throughout the series. I like Sara with Will. Her traumas and how she handled herself make her wiser and stronger. Respect for ALL the women in these series. Cheers to Amanda and Faith too.⁣
⁣
“With Jeffrey, Sara had known that there were dozens, possibly hundreds of other women who could love him just as intensely as she did. With Will, Sara was keenly aware that she was the only woman on earth who could love him the way that he deserved to be loved.” ⁣
⁣
☠ It was lovely to see Jeffrey back in this book with action. I have my way of remembering and loving Jeffrey. But what I love about Will is he's not sorry for himself but overcomes enormous obstacles to achieve success.⁣
⁣
"It was easier to lie if you never looked for the truth."⁣
⁣
☠ The twist and turns of this book make my mind blown. That ending! The brutally! Everything!

☠ WARNING! ☠ ⁣
⁣
☠ This book is not for everyone. If you don't like too much gore and details of torture, then don't read it.⁣

☠ ⁣Full review posted in Goodreads. Link in my bio. ๐Ÿ˜Š
⁣
█║▌║▌SYNOPSIS ▌║▌║█⁣

﹏ A young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead. The police investigate but the trail goes cold. Until a chance assignment takes GBI investigator Will Trent to the state penitentiary, and to a prisoner who says he recognizes the MO. Empty Smiles (Small Spaces #4) - Katherine Arden⁣

๐‘๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  3/5 ✰⁣
⁣
⚯͛ Reviewing for the whole series.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ I oddly remember pennywise throughout the whole journey. He's like the version of it, but in these series, they called him the smiling man.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ What I love about these kids is even though it's too big and too strange for them, they did their best to solve every hard situation and help each other to the best they can.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ The author has a great way of portraying terrifying scenes in your head. It's fun and terrifying at the same time. I don't know if I can survive if I were in their situation.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ About the ending... Wow. It ended too soon. It felt rushed. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿค” It was disappointing. Hmmm. I was just in the momentum of anticipating the climax of this story, but it ended abruptly I was completely lost. I felt betrayed. I have expectations about this one, I thought oh yes there's a clown involved. This must be the creepiest book in the series. (-_-)⁣
⁣
⚯͛ I still recommend you to read it. I might have a different perspective than yours. It's definitely worth your time.⁣
⁣
(The rating of 3 stars would be for the last book. The overall rating for the whole series is 4 stars.)⁣

█║▌║▌SYNOPSIS ▌║▌║█⁣
⁣
⚯͛ A boy who went missing at a nearby traveling carnival appears at the town swimming hole, terrified and rambling. He tells anyone who'll listen about the mysterious man who took him. How the man agreed to let him go on one condition: that he deliver a message. Play if you dare. ๐Ÿคก⁣
⁣
⚯͛ Game on! The smiling man has finally made his move. Now it’s Coco, Brian, and Phil’s turn to make theirs. And they know just where to start. The traveling carnival is coming to Evansburg. ๐ŸŽ ⁣

Dark Waters (Small Spaces #3) - Katherine Arden⁣⁣

๐‘๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  3/5 ✰⁣
⁣
⚯͛ It's not the strongest storyline and plot in the series. The book cover is fantastic but the book itself was just too short.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ This just felt flat and dull. Great idea but poor execution. I felt that the atmosphere is not scary or creepy. Also, I don't think adding Phil to the trio is necessary. It doesn't make sense.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ I wonder if this is written by the same author? ๐Ÿคท Because it's different from the first two books. What happened?! Seriously? I'm afraid to read the last book. ๐Ÿคฆ⁣
⁣
█║▌║▌SYNOPSIS ▌║▌║█⁣
⁣
⚯͛ When they're left shipwrecked on an island haunted by a monster on both land and sea, Brian's survival instincts kick in and it's up to him to help everyone work together and find a way to escape.⁣
⁣
⚯͛ One thing is for sure, the smiling man is back and he wants a rematch. And this time Brian is ready to play.⁣

Dead Voices (Small Spaces #2) - Katherine Arden

๐‘๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  4.5/5 ✰

“Perhaps only to frighten us. Weaken us. Ghosts like it when you’re afraid. It means you acknowledge them.”

⚯͛ A MASTERPIECE! Terrifying but a fun read! Even better than the first book!

⚯͛ The adventures of the trio keeps getting better in this second installment of Small Spaces series. I remember Harry Potter but in a creepy way. The friendship is solid. How they care and fight for each other.

“I believe in memory. I believe in remembering someone you love so well that it becomes kind of like a ghost. You remember someone so hard that it feels like they're in the next room, just around the corner, that they could walk in any minute.”

⚯͛ I got goosebumps reading this! This book is eerie and creepy in the best way ever. SO ATMOSPHERIC! KUDOS Miss Arden! A great ghost story for everyone!

⚯͛ Yay! Highly recommended to everyone who loves creepy middle-grade stories.

█║▌║▌SYNOPSIS ▌║▌║█

⚯͛ Having survived sinister scarecrows and the malevolent smiling man in Small Spaces, newly minted best friends Ollie, Coco, and Brian are ready to spend a relaxing winter break skiing together with their parents at Mount Hemlock Resort. ๐ŸŽƒ

⚯͛ Ollie, Coco, and Brian are determined to make the best of being snowed in, but odd things keep happening. Coco is convinced she has seen a ghost, and Ollie is having nightmares about frostbitten girls pleading for help. ๐Ÿ”️

Small Spaces (Small Spaces #1) - Katherine Arden

๐‘๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  4/5 ✰

“Avoid large places at night. Keep to small.”

⚯͛ Fast-paced, creepy, and fun. A must-read!

“You might get to know characters in books, Ollie thought, but getting to know a human was an entirely different thing.”

⚯͛ I love the characters. The friendship. The eerie atmosphere. I didn't expect the twist about the smiling man. Though I like the whole story, there are still plot holes. I have questions that hopefully will be answered by the next book.

⚯͛ Yay! Highly recommended to everyone who loves creepy middle-grade stories.

█║▌║▌SYNOPSIS ▌║▌║█

⚯͛ After suffering a tragic loss, eleven-year-old Ollie who only finds solace in books discovers a chilling ghost story about a girl named Beth, the two brothers who loved her, and a peculiar deal made with “the smiling man”—a sinister specter who grants your most tightly held wish, but only for the ultimate price. ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿƒ

❺/❺ ✮

⚠️Might contain SPOILER⚠️

☙ NAPAKASAKLAP NAMAN! MASAKIT! Tulala pa rin ako until now. Parang gusto kong sumigaw. Or kausapin si Sir Egay. Itanong kung BAKIT PO? Bakit nananakit?

☙ May nabasa na akong spoiler e. Isang karakter na mamamatay sa librong ito. Akala ko talaga handa na ako. So, sabi ko okay, mamamatay pala yun. Paborito ko rin siya e. TAPOS! HINDI LANG PALA SIYA! MAY MAS MALUPIT PANG MAMAMATAY! BAKIT NAMAN GANON?! T_T

☙ Knowing Sir Egay, alam kong may pasabog bawat libro.

Mamahalin mo talaga bawat karakter dito. Saka yung iba parang gusto mong pulbusin. Char! Nakakagigil kasi. Yung character development malupit e.

☙ May isang karakter pa talaga akong inaabangan kung anong mangyayari e.

Maraming salamat Sir Egay! Napakalupit mo talaga!

Freaking Romance⁣ (Freaking Romance #1 - #3)⁣ by Snailords⁣

Reading challenge: 15/50 ๐Ÿ“š⁣
⁣
Overall Rating: 3.5/5 ✨⁣
⁣
Synopsis:⁣
⁣
+A sexy supernatural story about being out on your own, finding your dream apartment, and discovering that your new place is haunted by a handsome spectral stranger from another dimension. Sure, HE can’t see you and YOU can’t touch him, but who said every relationship starts perfectly?⁣
⁣
Review for Volume #1-#3⁣
⁣
*SPOILER ALERT*⁣
⁣
+It started strong. This is the first time I'm impressed by a webtoon or webcomic series. The art style is so f*cking pretty. The characters are all good-looking. The first and second volume is so awesome. I like the plot and storyline. It's refreshing and cute.⁣
⁣
+If you know me, I'm not into the romance category or genre. But this is sooooo amazing. Way better than I expected. The emotional torture of a cliff-hanging ending is worth it.⁣
⁣
+The last season wreaked me. I'm disappointed. Yes, the art is still amazing. But there are a lot of questions in my head. WHY? WHAT HAPPENED? HOW? lol, It felt like the author is rushed or whatever? No plot and character development. It drives me insane. I'm just sad and frustrated.⁣
⁣
+Overall, I'm just giving this 3.5/5 stars. I hate and love this story. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I wished that there was more and a different ending. Rather than just giving us a rushed ending. It doesn't make sense at all. ๐Ÿคฆ‍♀️⁣
⁣
+Will I recommend this? Uhmm. Read at your own risk. I will probably read another book from this author. Who knows? ๐Ÿคท‍♀️⁣

Gwendy's Button Box (The Button Box #1) - Stephen King, Richard Chizmar⁣

⁣
9/50⁣
⁣
3.5/5 ๐ŸŒŸ⁣
⁣
+A simple tale, short, strange yet, meaningful story. I enjoyed it a lot. It has rich details and well-developed characters that make the story come alive.⁣
⁣
+Whenever I read an SK book, I always have questions to ponder. It becomes interesting. Altogether, a good read not terrifying. Looking forward to reading the sequel.⁣
⁣
««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««⁣
⁣
+Stephen King teams up with long-time friend and award-winning author Richard Chizmar for the first time in this original, chilling novella that revisits the mysterious town of Castle Rock.⁣
⁣
+There are three ways up to Castle View from the town of Castle Rock: Route 117, Pleasant Road, and the Suicide Stairs. Every day in the summer of 1974, twelve-year-old Gwendy Peterson has taken the stairs, which are held by strong—if time-rusted—iron bolts and zig-zag up the precarious cliffside.⁣
⁣
+Then one day when Gwendy gets to the top of Castle View, after catching her breath and hearing the shouts of kids on the playground below, a stranger calls to her. There on a bench in the shade sits a man in black jeans, a black coat, and a white shirt unbuttoned at the top. On his head is a small, neat black hat. The time will come when Gwendy has nightmares about that hat…⁣
⁣
+The little town of Castle Rock, Maine has witnessed some strange events and unusual visitors over the years, but there is one story that has never been told—until now.⁣

+Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a good, true and timeless classic read. Imaginative and fantastic in every way. The entire experience is uncanny in a good way, but also a fascinating adventure with all the characters.

+It's challenging for me. If you know me, I don't read a lot of classics. But thanks to my brother and best friend Jao Wonders who always inspire me to try different genres.

+I enjoyed it a lot. I've read this together with the graphic novel version. If I have a chance, I'll make sure to have a physical copy of this book. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.

↓↓♫♪↓↓♫♪↓↓♫♪↓↓♫♪↓↓♫♪↓↓

What I've learned after reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland:

+Curiosity often leads to trouble. BUT, it's okay to be curious. It means you want to try, learn and achieve some things in your life. Be impulsive from time to time. heh! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

+Even though taking risks can be scary sometimes, without risks and challenging situations, we will not grow.

+We're all mad. Just like The Cheshire Cat said. I'm not saying like bat sh*t crazy, what I mean is we are all unique in our own beautiful way. Some may say weird and peculiar. But that's okay. I like being weird. ๐Ÿ˜Š

+We have a purpose in life. Have you ever been in a situation where you think you cannot survive it or it doesn't make sense at all? Life is a mix of wonders. It's not always rainbow and sunshine. We need to find a way every day why we are here. It's not easy but hey, who doesn't love a challenging life? ๐Ÿ˜‰

+Be whomever you want to be. Don't be afraid of changes in your life. That's how we grow as a person.

+Dream and believe that you are capable of doing impossible things. Set your goals high! Strive for something you wouldn't imagine you could do. DON'T LET ANYONE DEFINE YOUR LIMITS! CHALLENGE YOUR LIMITS!

+Don't be burdened by your past mistakes and disappointments in life. In this mundane life, we all make mistakes. There's always a choice. Don't choose the easy way, do the right thing.

+Sometimes we all need to go through all hardship before we can find the way that will benefit us in the long run.

+Good things happen to those who wait. Wandering doesn't always mean you're lost. Sometimes there are just things you need to do or see before you get to where you need to be. There's always perfect timing in everything. Learn to wait. ๐Ÿค—

Buddy read with Jao. ♥

The Night Sister by Jennifer McMahon

4/50

4/5 ๐ŸŒŸ

❝Some people are made stronger by loss. Others are broken by it.❞

❝Sometimes a lie isn’t what’s said, but what’s unsaid. An omission.❞

A mysterious, dark, and hauntingly beautiful read.

+I enjoyed reading this creepy and mysterious book. It just piqued my curiosity. Very engaging and a page-turner. Since I love The Winter People. I got curious about her other books too.

+Despite the fact that I predicted what will happen, it still surprised me. There's a lot of twists. It's beautifully structured. And you'll feel anxious while you're reading because you want to know what really happened. Or what's in the 29th room? I like that feeling. I was always too eager to know what happened next resulting in keeping reading until I finish it in one sitting. I guess that's what I love about how McMahon writes. It gives you various reasons to continue reading.

+How I wish there's more to Amy's story or history of the monster. At times I feel it's a bit dragging and slow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. If you like spooky whodunit stories, complex mystery, and well-written prose, this is for you.

P.S.
If you haven't read The Winter People, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Last Widow ( Will Trent #9 ) by Karin Slaughter⁣

๐Ÿ‘/๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ⁣
⁣
๐Ÿ“/๐Ÿ“ ๐ŸŒŸ⁣
⁣
+Never a dull moment in Georgia with Karin Slaughter. What a f*cking genius! Couldn't ask for more. I'm still shocked at how well-thought-out, well-researched this book is. A well-written story with an intriguing adrenaline-filled plot with well-developed characters.⁣
⁣
+As we all know I've been a fan of Karin's work. Through the years I always enjoyed her books. This book deserves a 5-star rating. I was surprised at how I loved the whole journey. Impossible to put down once you start reading. Even if sometimes it's too much. Brutal AF! Sometimes I need to stop and breathe before I continue to process the situation of the characters.⁣
⁣
+It's been a rollercoaster of emotions. I can't even recommend this to everyone. This is not a light read. It needs your attention and it tackles heavy subjects and concepts. There might be a topic that just seems to be too triggering for some people. Nevertheless, I still think that you need to give it a try. Even Karin's standalone books. It will be worth it. Or you can start with my favorite series Karin Slaughter Grant County Series Reading Order Checklist.⁣
⁣
WARNING TRIGGERS: Rape, pedophilia, and lots of violence.⁣

Si by Bob Ong

2/50⁣
⁣
3.5/5 ✨⁣
⁣
At nag enjoy ako.⁣
⁣
