彡 One of the darkest and most brutal Robert Hunter cases I've read so far. As the fifth book in the series, One by One proves once again why Chris Carter is one of my go-to authors when it comes to crime thrillers. The story pulled me in almost immediately and kept the tension high from beginning to end. It's the kind of book that makes you lose track of time because you constantly need to know what happens next.

彡 What impressed me most was how invested I became in the story. The villain was incredibly frustrating in the best possible way, and there were moments that genuinely got under my skin. The deeper I got into the book, the more emotionally involved I became, which made the experience even more intense.

彡 Carter's writing is as detailed and immersive as ever. The investigations, the atmosphere, and the crime scenes all felt vivid without slowing down the pace. Every chapter seemed to raise the stakes, making it difficult to put the book down even when I wanted a break from the tension.

彡 Even after finishing it, I found myself thinking about the story. It left me unsettled, frustrated, and completely invested until the very last page. Not necessarily my favorite Robert Hunter book, but definitely one of the darkest, most brutal, and most memorable entries in the series so far.
