BARAKAMON

シ Seishuu Handa is an up-and-coming calligrapher: young, handsome, talented, and unfortunately, a narcissist to boot. When a veteran labels his award-winning piece as "unoriginal," Seishuu quickly loses his cool with severe repercussions.

シ As punishment, and also in order to aid him in self-reflection, Seishuu's father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle the temperamental artist is used to. Now thrown into a rural setting, Seishuu must attempt to find new inspiration and develop his own unique art style—that is, if boisterous children (headed by the frisky Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and energetic old men stop barging into his house!

シ The newest addition to the intimate and quirky Goto community only wants to get some work done, but the islands are far from the peaceful countryside he signed up for. Thanks to his wacky neighbors who are entirely incapable of minding their own business, the arrogant calligrapher learns so much more than he ever hoped to.

シ Adorable, heartwarming, beautiful, and wholesome.

シ I've read some of the reviews about this anime before watching it. They compare it to Poco's Udon World. For me, it's different. Yes, same slice of life and enjoyable. But Poco's Udon World surpassed my expectations.

シ Barakamon is about an adult who has difficulties growing up, socializing with people, overcoming the fears of rejection, and accepting who you are. It has elements that you will surely enjoy.

シ I have high expectations on this one since I finished watching Poco's Udon World. It's a bit disappointing and different from what I expected. But it's still enjoyable. I like the characters and ending. I'm glad that I was able to finish this. I recommend this anime to people who love a slice of life and drama stories.

+It started strong. This is the first time I'm impressed by a webtoon or webcomic series. The art style is so f*cking pretty. The characters are all good-looking. The first and second volume is so awesome. I like the plot and storyline. It's refreshing and cute.⁣

+If you know me, I'm not into the romance category or genre. But this is sooooo amazing. Way better than I expected. The emotional torture of a cliff-hanging ending is worth it.⁣

+The last season wreaked me. I'm disappointed. Yes, the art is still amazing. But there are a lot of questions in my head. WHY? WHAT HAPPENED? HOW? lol, It felt like the author is rushed or whatever? No plot and character development. It drives me insane. I'm just sad and frustrated.⁣

+Overall, I'm just giving this 3.5/5 stars. I hate and love this story. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I wished that there was more and a different ending. Rather than just giving us a rushed ending. It doesn't make sense at all. 🤦‍♀️⁣

+Will I recommend this? Uhmm. Read at your own risk. I will probably read another book from this author. Who knows? 🤷‍♀️⁣

+Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a good, true and timeless classic read. Imaginative and fantastic in every way. The entire experience is uncanny in a good way, but also a fascinating adventure with all the characters.

+It's challenging for me. If you know me, I don't read a lot of classics. But thanks to my brother and best friend Jao Wonders who always inspire me to try different genres.

+I enjoyed it a lot. I've read this together with the graphic novel version. If I have a chance, I'll make sure to have a physical copy of this book. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.

What I've learned after reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland:

+Curiosity often leads to trouble. BUT, it's okay to be curious. It means you want to try, learn and achieve some things in your life. Be impulsive from time to time. heh! 😎

+Even though taking risks can be scary sometimes, without risks and challenging situations, we will not grow.

+We're all mad. Just like The Cheshire Cat said. I'm not saying like bat sh*t crazy, what I mean is we are all unique in our own beautiful way. Some may say weird and peculiar. But that's okay. I like being weird. 😊

+We have a purpose in life. Have you ever been in a situation where you think you cannot survive it or it doesn't make sense at all? Life is a mix of wonders. It's not always rainbow and sunshine. We need to find a way every day why we are here. It's not easy but hey, who doesn't love a challenging life? 😉

+Be whomever you want to be. Don't be afraid of changes in your life. That's how we grow as a person.

+Dream and believe that you are capable of doing impossible things. Set your goals high! Strive for something you wouldn't imagine you could do. DON'T LET ANYONE DEFINE YOUR LIMITS! CHALLENGE YOUR LIMITS!
